Application Process

  1. Download the application (for either summer or fall, depending on your program) and the recommendation forms on the sidebar
  2. Complete the application and submit it, along with the two letters of recommendation and your most recent transcript, to Dr. Debbie Bell. Note the deadlines for each program. The application and the recommendations can be submitted as paper documents or email attachments.
  3. Once you receive confirmation, go online to your student account or go to the Bursar’s Office and pay the application fee of $250. Note that this fee is refundable only in the event that you are not admitted to the program.
  4. We will contact you to set up an interview. The interviews typically last about fifteen minutes and include questions in both French and English.

No interviews will be conducted until the candidate’s file is complete. A complete dossier includes the application form and the two letters of recommendation (one of which must be written by someone who has taught you French). Note that the other reference should be professional or academic; you should not have a friend or a peer with whom you work as a reference.

If your qualifications meet our requirements, you will be notified within two weeks of your interview of your acceptance. If you do not meet our minimum requirements, you will be placed on a waiting list and will be notified of such. In the event that the available spots do not fill up with fully qualified applicants, we will accept students from the waiting list, beginning with the most qualified of those students.
